A New Chapter – Over the Rainbow Children’s Therapy Centre is also open in Derry

We are delighted to announce the opening of our new therapy centre in Derry/Londonderry, creating a welcoming, purpose-designed space for children, young people and families across the North West.

This exciting new location will make specialist therapeutic services more accessible to families throughout Derry, Donegal, Strabane, Limavady, Coleraine, Tyrone and the surrounding areas.

Conveniently located in Derry, the centre is also just 24 minutes from the Dry Arch Roundabout in Letterkenny, making it an easy and accessible option for families travelling from across County Donegal.

Supporting Children, Young People and Families

At Over the Rainbow Children’s Therapy Centre, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to feel safe, understood and supported. Our approach is child-centred, relationship-based and tailored to the unique needs of each young person.

Charlotte Lyne brings together a unique combination of educational leadership and specialist therapeutic expertise. With over 20 years’ experience in education, she has worked across a range of teaching and leadership roles, supporting children with diverse learning, emotional and developmental needs. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Special Needs Education and has also worked as a Home School Community Liaison (HSCL) Coordinator with Tusla Education Support Services, helping to strengthen the connection between home, school and community while supporting children and families facing a wide range of challenges.

Charlotte also has experience providing therapeutic services in collaboration with Tusla and the MACE project (Multiple Adverse Childhood Experiences project), as well as supporting children in foster care, offering specialised support to those who have experienced complex life circumstances.

Alongside her educational career, Charlotte has over a decade of clinical experience as a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist and Play Therapist. She has completed master’s level training in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy and is currently undertaking a master’s degree in Psychology, alongside extensive specialist training in trauma, attachment, play therapy and child development over the years. Charlotte is also an experienced Clinical Supervisor, providing supervision and professional support to child and adolescent psychotherapists and play therapists.

Throughout her career, Charlotte has worked with hundreds of children, adolescents and families experiencing a wide range of emotional, behavioural and psychological difficulties. Her extensive clinical experience spans developmental and complex trauma, attachment difficulties, anxiety, emotional regulation, grief and bereavement, neurodiversity-affirming practice, medical trauma, childhood cancer, child sexual abuse, domestic violence, family separation and divorce, foster care and adoption, siblings of children with additional or complex needs, school-based difficulties, and the impact of adverse childhood experiences. She has significant experience supporting children with additional needs and those navigating complex family circumstances, always working collaboratively with parents, schools and other professionals to provide holistic, child-centred care.

Charlotte is passionate about creating a warm, safe and accepting therapeutic environment where children and young people feel truly seen, heard and understood. Her goal is to help every child build resilience, strengthen emotional wellbeing, develop healthy relationships and reach their full potential.
